Sorry for the political incorrectness in that title, but the guys over at Copyblogger sure know how to get your attention with powerful copywriting. I practically snorted coffee through my nose when I got to that line in the post titled Does Telling Someone to “Click Here” Actually Matter?.
“Google is truly making people retarded” is my quote of the week, both for making me laugh and for reminding us that everything is not always all about keyword optimization.

It is frighteningly true! I have built websites on the notion that it would be “obvious” to click on something to take you somewhere else. Not the case. When I presented it to the owner of the web site, they were so confused as to how people would know how to get from one place to another on the site. So yes, I added “click here” to the site. If the owner wasn’t going to get it, neither was the public. Lesson learned. Here’s another one for you. How many of your clients use their address bar or go to Google, type in the name of the site they are looking for and then go to it from the link they find on Google? I think you’d be suprised!
